Great shot & fantastic that it's being used. I'm interested in the camera, lens & if you did any post processing of the picture. As you know, I'm new to all this and I'm a big fan of your work.
Thanks Gary! This is actually an HDR composite image--3 shots bracketed by 1 stop each for the best high dynamic range that could be wrung out of figs that were actually very flat in color/sheen/texture. Every single shot looked drab and stupid, so I tried HDR and came out with that dreamy effect!
As always when doing "foodtography" I use the Pentax K20D camera and the Pentax FA 50mm f/1.4 lens. The lens is a must have for food photography really. I swear it creates beautiful light. . .
I probably took it at f/11 or f/13 because when you photograph that close to something even at such a small aperture, you get significant dropoff in depth of field beyond where the focal point is.
Does that help at all?
Best, Cindy
