This was taken during the last few minutes I spent at Five Islands Lobster Co, shooting sunrise. I took a few shots after sunrise, but the real "action" was before the sun made his appearance.

This is another shot from Saturday morning's beautiful pre-dawn shoot at Five Islands Lobster Co in Georgetown, Maine. I love how the warmth of the light belies the fact that the boat in the foreground is filled with snow.

This is another shot from yesterday's pre-dawn fun at Five Islands in Georgetown, Maine. I thought this was kind of a throwaway shot at the time, but now I really like it. . .

On the way back from my shoot at Five Islands in Georgetown, I managed to get a shot I've always wanted: the little suspension footbridge in Brunswick over the river. I just found out that it is called the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge. I had noticed a lot of sea mist or smoke on various smaller bodies of water as I drove home from Georgetown, and as I came closer to the footbridge, I saw that the river was covered in beautiful mist as high as twenty and thirty feet! I parked and ran across the bridge to face back into the sun so the mist would be backlit. It was gorgeous! The mist was undulating and wafting along slowly to the left of where I was standing. Hoarfrost about 1/2 inches thick decorated all of the trees and every surface on the bridge--gorgeous! I wouldn't have been surprised if little fairies started dancing around my head, honestly! You can read a little bit about the bridge here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androscoggin_Swinging_Bridge

This morning I headed out of the house at the ungodly hour of 4:30 am to drive up to Georgetown, Maine to photograph the Five Islands area on the coast. It was pitch black as I drove up and there really wasn't much light until I arrived there, and then I had about 40 minutes to photograph a beautiful clear twilight with warm colors in the sky. The water was so peaceful and calm, you would have sworn it was a lake or a pond. It was really chilly, at about 5 degrees, but fortunately there wasn't a breath of wind to disturb the water or me. I met a couple of nice women photographers there too, and by the end of the shoot, I was just about slurring with the cold!

After Snow Vanishing Point

Thursday morning, I went out after Wednesday's beautiful snowstorm in search of good snowy morning images. This was the only one that I got, as I opted to go out to Falmouth and nothing seemed to resonate. But I thought this worked pretty well as a monochrome so I thought I'd post it.

I've had to begin using watermarks on my photos, unfortunately, because a woman named Linda Golley stole one of my images and watermarked it as her own--I discovered this last week when someone kindly posted a link to the place she was showing off her many stolen photos (her Facebook page, which has since been removed by Facebook). Thanks to the person who I couldn't actually get in touch with!
